Irving Suite
| Washington Irving (1783 - 1859) earned his reputation as a major
author by creating the short story. Just inside our lobby door is the actual spot where, in 1802,
"the kiss was stolen" ~ immortalized in Irving's short story The Early Experiences of Ralph Ringwood.
Irving had a way of combining folklore with romanticism in his literary works. He also wrote Rip Van Winkle
& The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. |
